The City of Falls Church draws a clear line on electrical work. Replacing an outlet, a switch or a ceiling light where one already is needs no permit. Adding a fixture does. Permits come from the city's office at 300 Park Avenue. Addresses in the Fairfax County part of the mailing area go through the county's Land Development Services, which also lets a like-for-like replacement go without one.
